Impatient Much? Force Windows 10 Upgrade

Are you one of those people who hates to wait? Want to bump yourself to the front of the Windows 10 “Reserved” line? Using an elevated command prompt and some patience you can do just that! Unfortunately this little trick won’t bump others off their downloads so it isn’t what I would call instant gratification but close (connection dependent of course).

Before you start, I feel inclined to remind you of the following:

  • Backup Your Windows Environment First
  • Download All Outstanding Windows Updates
  • Have Legit License
  • Double Check Hardware/Software Requirements (Download Updates If Needed)

Now on to the good stuff!

Steps To Force Windows 10 Upgrade

1.) Reserve and/or verify you have a copy “reserved”

2.) Make sure you have Automatic Updates Turned On

3.) Run Command Prompt in Administrator Mode

4.) Type “wuauclt.exe /updatenow” and hit “Enter”

5.) Wait a few minutes

6.) Check “Windows Update” from the Control Panel

7.) Download process should have been initiated

8.) Wait longer…everyone is doing this today

9.) Install Windows 10 Upgrade

10.) Enjoy
